This is a classical dance describing the sacred birth of new land from Hawaiʻiʻs volcano, doing so through the Hula Pele (dances of Pele), female deity of Hawaiʻiʻs volcanoes and lava. This hula is presented for itʻs beautiful and profound description of nature spirit and her cycles, reminding the human person to live in concert to nature, and not in exploitation of it.
This hula is excellent for all levels of hula experience, from the novice to the experienced. It will be taught as a sitting dance and as a standing dance, as well. Participants are invited to learn one or both styles. The purpose of this hula is to contribute via dance to the wellbeing of our world as we are awakened and refreshed to the reality we belong to a vibrant global family.

Oli, chanting, is Hawaiʻiʻs sacred vocal vibrato communications systems in direct communion to our universe and to the living within. This chant workshop introduces traditional chant styles and itʻs varied vocal adornments. Participants will experience the basic culture of chant training through listening and mimicking chant styles and vocal ornamentations. In addition, introduction to the sacred purpose and accountabilities of oli will be shared. Participants will learn E Ala, E Ala (Awaken, Awaken), a chant-prayer suitable for personal and collective awakening to the sacred, especially in this time of global health-concerns.
No chanting experience required.
Only the respect for the sacred practices of Hawaiʻi is required.

Tangarō (Dr. Taupōuri Tangarō)
Tangarō (Dr. Taupōuri Tangarō) is the founder and director of UNUKUPUKUPU, a hula school at Hawaiʻi Community College, the University of Hawaiʻi. He teaches the culture of hula for the promotion of indigenous leadership for community (local & global) wellbeing. He is an ʻūniki graduate of Hālau O Kekuhi, Keaukaha, Hawaiʻi. Tangarō comes from a particular hula lineage where teachers (kumu hula) are addressed by their first names, and NOT by their title (Kumu/Kumuhula).

Dies ist ein klassischer Tanz, der die heilige Geburt des neuen Landes des Vulkans von Hawaiʻi beschreibt, und zwar durch den Hula Pele (Pele Tänze), der weiblichen Gottheit der Hawaiianischen Vulkane und der Lava. Durch diesen Hula wird die schöne und tiefgründige Beschreibung des Naturgeistes und ihrer Zyklen präsentiert, welche die menschliche Person daran erinnert im Einklang mit der Natur zu leben und nicht in Ausbeutung der Natur.
Dieser Hula eignet sich hervorragend für alle Stufen der Hula-Erfahrung, vom Anfänger bis zum erfahrenen Tänzer. Er wird sowohl als sitzender als auch als stehender Tanz unterrichtet. Die Teilnehmer sind eingeladen einen oder beide Varianten zu lernen. Der Zweck dieses Hula ist es durch den Tanz zum Wohlergehen unserer Welt beizutragen, indem wir wachgerüttelt und von der Realität, dass wir zu einer pulsierenden globalen Familie gehören, erfrischt werden.

Oli, Chanting, ist Hawaiʻiʻs heiliges Vibrato-Kommunikationssysteme in direkter Gemeinschaft mit unserem Universum und dem Lebenden im Inneren. Dieser Gesangs-Workshop stellt traditionelle Gesangsstile und ihre verschiedenen stimmlichen Verzierungen vor. Die Teilnehmer erfahren die grundlegende Kultur der Gesangs-ausbildung durch Zuhören und Nachahmen von Gesangsstilen und Stimmverzierungen. Darüber hinaus wird eine Einführung in den heiligen Zweck und die Verantwortlichkeiten des Oli gegeben. Die Teilnehmer werden E Ala, E Ala (Erwachen, Erwachen) lernen, ein Gesangsgebet, das sich für das persönliche und kollektive Erwachen zum Heiligen eignet, besonders in dieser Zeit der globalen Gesundheits-Bedenken.
Es ist keine Erfahrung in Gesang erforderlich.
Es ist lediglich der Respekt gegenüber den heiligen Praktiken von Hawaiʻi erforderlich.
